Crystal City to Dilley: Satsuki Ina on Immigrant Family Detention

Dr. Satsuki Ina was born in a Japanese Incarceration camp in the Tule Lake Segregation Center in Tule Lake, California. She was then transferred and detained with her mother in Crystal City, Texas during World War II, after her father and brother were transferred to another internment camp in Ft. Lincoln, North Dakota. Today, Dr. Ina is an advocate against the US Government’s policy of once again detaining immigrant families in prison-like conditions. In early May 2015, Dr. Ina returned to Texas to participate in a rally at the Dilley Family Detention Camp, and returned to Crystal City for the first time since she was a child.
